Three private hire vehicles suspended at Birmingham Airport

Licensing officers checked 100 private hire vehicles at Birmingham Airport. Three were suspended for a defective tyre.

City of Wolverhampton Council's Public Protection team posted on 5 November 2026 that taxi compliance teams from Wolverhampton and Solihull had worked with West Midlands Police at Birmingham Airport. The teams checked 100 private hire vehicles. Three were suspended for a defective tyre. Ten others were advised about the fixing of a licence plate and a badge.

The record

The post is the team's own note of the operation. It gives no date for the checks themselves. It does not name the council that licensed the three suspended vehicles, and it does not mention any further penalty.
