Virginia Lyft driver charged after trapping two women in car

Adar Bulut, 25: abduction and reckless driving — fare dispute in Woodbridge; women unhurt; he later surrendered.

A Falls Church Lyft driver has been charged with abducting two women after a fare dispute at the end of a Maryland-to-Virginia ride.

Prince William County Police / WJLA say Adar Bulut, 25, picked up women aged 32 and 25 on 6 September, proposed they pay him a discounted cash fare off-app, then during drop-off in Woodbridge’s Noble Fir Court area prevented them leaving and drove a short distance before letting them out around 12.33am. Neither was injured. Warrants for two abduction counts and reckless driving were issued; Bulut turned himself in on 10 September. Court date pending.
