Truro taxi written off after mini-digger trailer smash

Station Road crash 7 Sep: passenger in rear; driver soft-tissue injuries — ‘glad no one was killed’.

A Truro taxi was written off after a trailer carrying a mini digger smashed into its front near the train station — with a passenger in the back.

Cornwall Live reports the collision on Station Road at The Crescent shortly after 8.50am on 7 September. The taxi driver said there was no time to react and he was glad nobody was killed or seriously hurt; he went to hospital with soft-tissue injuries while the shocked passenger made their own way. Two parked cars were also damaged. Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed one person was taken to hospital and the road later reopened.
