Exeter cabbie must repay £63k after Bounce Back Loan fraud

Dogantekin used inflated turnover for £100k Covid loans — flat in Turkey and pizza oven among spends.

An Exeter taxi driver jailed for Bounce Back Loan fraud has been ordered to repay £63,790 under a confiscation order.

Business Desk / Credit Connect coverage matches earlier reporting: Murat Dogantekin secured two £50,000 loans in 2020 by hugely overstating turnover, spent about £48,000 on a Turkish flat plus a car and pizza oven, made no repayments before bankruptcy, and was jailed for two years seven months in February 2025. He has three months to pay or face further custody while still owing the sum. The Insolvency Service said the scheme was not for property and pizza ovens.
