Police in Chandigarh are investigating the murder of cab driver Vijay Kumar, 31, of Kurali, after his body was found with multiple stab wounds near Sector 38 West.
Hindustan Times reports he accepted a booking from Kharar to Chandigarh around 10.30pm Friday but did not finish the trip. Morning walkers found him about 7.30am Saturday; wounds included shoulder, abdomen and hand. His car was later abandoned near Sector 56; CCTV showed it moving around the city until about 1am. Motive is unclear — police are examining a possible carjacking — and the last booker’s identity, weapon and phone were still unrecovered when the report ran. A murder case was registered at Maloya police station against unidentified persons.
