British man remanded after Seville taxi stabbing

Passenger stabbed Seville cabbie about 16 times on an industrial estate; suspect remanded with no bail.

A British man has been remanded in custody without bail after a Seville taxi driver was stabbed repeatedly during a night-time job.

Sur in English and Spanish court reporting say the passenger boarded near Campana McDonald’s around 2am, asked for Los Arcos then an industrial estate (Carretera Amarilla / Avenida de la Industria). When the driver paused to check directions, he was stabbed about 16 times — including neck and chest — yet drove to local police HQ for help. The 40-year-old suspect, British nationality and Alicante-linked in local reports, told a duty judge he remembered nothing; he faces a provisional attempted-murder inquiry. The driver’s life was not reported in danger after treatment.
