Benalmádena upgrades taxi ranks and lifts fares after 7 years

Pueblo rank refurbished; Costa del Sol-agreed tariff update as fuel costs climb; PMR services monitored.

Benalmádena town hall has refurbished the Pueblo taxi rank and approved the first fare rise in more than seven years.

Sur in English reports repainting, gutter cleaning, new awnings and better facilities, with ranks across the municipality reorganised and signed more clearly. Identifying vinyls were added to the fleet two years ago and drivers got corporate-colour shirts. Mobility councillor Campos said the new fares were agreed with other Costa del Sol municipalities after operators faced higher fuel and running costs. Adapted-taxi access for reduced-mobility passengers is being monitored alongside further small upgrades with the trade.
