Ingenio City Council has welcomed a new technological access-control system for taxis at Gran Canaria Airport.
La Voz Canaria, citing the Ayuntamiento, says the project with the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and Telde links official airport taxi tools to the island platform for authorised pick-ups, using electronic vehicle ID and automated plate reading. Mobility councillor Óliver Navarro called it a “great advance,” with Local Police tightening traffic around arrivals/departures and the GC-1. SGMAS dispatcher experience is feeding digitised service data for peak demand and zone use. The aim is transparent, verifiable compliance with Aena rules — not a fare change.
