Torbay revokes dual licence after crash and fresh complaints

Previously suspended for 19 complaints; a March 2026 crash led to immediate revocation for public safety.

Torbay Council has revoked a dual hackney carriage and private hire driver’s licence with immediate effect after fresh concerns following an earlier suspension.

Devon Live and trade reporting report the Regulatory Sub-Committee decision of 10 September 2026. In November 2025 the driver was suspended for three months after 19 complaints covering driving standards, sleeping on duty, rank behaviour, refusing cards/passengers and aggressive attitude. She completed mandatory advanced driving and customer-service training before returning. On 28 March 2026 she accepted responsibility for driving without due care after a collision (police-recorded, no court prosecution), and further complaints followed. Members said she was no longer fit and proper. Revocation was immediate for public safety; her vehicle proprietor’s licence was left untouched.
