Stone smashed Aberdeen taxi rear window at Union Square

Aberdeen Taxis says a stone hit the back seat after a 70-year-old passenger left, leaving about £900 of damage.

An Aberdeen taxi operator says a stone was thrown through a rear window near Union Square, leaving a repair bill of about £900.

The Press and Journal reports Aberdeen Taxis shared photos of the smashed glass with a stone on the back seat. The firm said it happened around 2pm on Wednesday 23 September 2026, shortly after a 70-year-old woman left the cab, and alleged youngsters had been “chucking stones at taxis” near the shopping centre. Police Scotland was contacted for comment; no arrest details were in the report.
