HJS hits 100 Euro 5–to–Euro 6 TX4 taxi retrofits

TfL-approved SCR kit can lift eligible London TX4s from 12 to 15 years’ maximum age once licensing conditions are met.

HJS Emission Technology says it has completed 100 Euro 5-to-Euro 6 retrofit installations on eligible LTC TX4 London taxis.

Announced 24 September 2026, the SCR system is TfL-approved (TPH notice following July 2025 testing and a 10,000-mile durability trial). Under TfL rules Euro 3–5 diesel taxis max out at 12 years; Euro 6 diesels can run to 15. Fitting the approved kit and meeting licensing conditions can therefore add up to three years for an eligible TX4.

Reporting links the milestone to LEVC ending current TX production this month, with the next-generation TX not expected in the UK until late 2027. A mid-July 2026 FOI counted 54 retrofitted Euro 5 taxis already licensed — a licensing count that predates HJS’s 100-install claim.
