Harlow backs black cabs with grants, free licensing and ranks

Leader Swords cites town-centre rebuild disruption — grant values and free period not yet detailed.

Harlow Council has announced grants, a spell of free licensing and new taxi ranks to support black-cab drivers during town-centre regeneration.

Reporting quotes leader Dan Swords saying construction disrupts the trade while a busier evening economy should create future work, with a dedicated main rank planned at the new bus station. The council has not yet published grant amounts, free-licensing length, eligibility or rank delivery dates.
