Boy seriously hurt at Corby George Street cab rank

Police want witnesses after a male pedestrian was seriously injured at Corby's George Street cab rank.

The Northamptonshire Telegraph reported a serious collision at the cab rank in George Street, Corby, at 11.30pm on Friday 30 October 2026, and an appeal from Northamptonshire Police for witnesses.

What a source told the paper

A source told the Telegraph that a young male passenger had been travelling with friends in a locally registered hackney carriage and was 50p short of the fare. After an argument with the driver, the taxi was damaged. On that account the boy was then run over by the cab after it mounted the pavement. He suffered a broken leg and other injuries and was taken to hospital.

The appeal

Officers, in an appeal reported on Wednesday 4 November 2026, described the victim as a male pedestrian with serious injuries and asked for witnesses to an earlier incident in which the cab was damaged. That request covers anyone who saw the damage or knows what led up to the collision, and anyone with CCTV, dashcam, mobile phone or doorbell footage.

Witnesses can contact Northamptonshire Police, or pass information anonymously to Crimestoppers.
