Black Cab Unite pitches commission-free national booking net

WhatsApp bookings, rank QR fixed fares and return-work matching — Coventry/London first.

Black Cab Unite is promoting a commission-free booking network aimed only at licensed black-cab drivers, starting in Coventry and London with Birmingham next.

Reporting says WhatsApp passenger requests (multi-language), fixed-fare QR codes at ranks, venue tablets, a national return-fare system to cut empty miles, push-to-talk driver chat and favourite-driver retention — with drivers keeping the full fare and no surge pricing. 2026 targets include city deployments and 200-plus venue partnerships; registration is open while parts of the network roll out. Success depends on scale and participation.
