Uber ran free rides in five vintage American cars through Bucharest’s Cotroceni district on 27 September 2026 for “Route 250,” marking 250 years since US independence.
Partnered with the US Embassy in Romania and JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel, the activation used a Cadillac Blue Pearl, Buick GS, Cadillac 70, Ford LTD and Ford Galaxy 2 for loops from the hotel through Cotroceni and back. Touch Magazine and Romania Observer say more than 550 residents took part; no app registration was required for the special rides. It was a promotional anniversary event, not a permanent product.
