Uber Fife office approved after 400 objections thrown out

Committee disregarded unsigned submissions; with no competent objections the Rosyth licence passed.

Uber Scot Ltd’s licence for a taxi booking office at Rosyth Business Centre was approved after Fife Council’s Regulation and Licensing Committee ruled 431 objections incompetent.

STV reports Uber solicitor Kevin Clancy said none were valid because they lacked specified grounds, names/addresses and signatures. Council solicitor Kimberley Langley agreed none were signed by hand or electronically. Convener Cllr Tom Adams moved to disregard them; without competent objections the matter fell under delegated powers and was granted. About 25 objectors had been invited to speak.
