TLC Taxis of Wellington is £189,181.38 short

TLC Taxis Limited of Wellington has gone into liquidation. The deficiency on its statement of affairs is £189,181.38.

TLC Taxis Limited of Wellington is in creditors' voluntary liquidation. The members passed written resolutions on 1 October 2026 to wind the company up and to appoint Rachel Hotham and Richard Warwick, of Milsted Langdon, as joint liquidators. A statement of affairs dated 18 September 2026 puts the estimated deficiency, once the £2 of share capital is included, at £189,181.38. The Somerset County Gazette reported that notice on 19 October 2026, and that the joint liquidators at Milsted Langdon had no comment.

The resolutions

The London Gazette published the resolutions on 2 October 2026, in issue 65194, on page 19207. TLC Taxis Limited, company number 11452650, traded under that name from Compound 2, Foxmoor Business Park, Wellington, Somerset, TA21 9RF. The notice gives that as the registered office, soon to be changed to Winchester House, Deane Gate Avenue, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 2UH.

The special resolution was that the company be wound up voluntarily. The ordinary resolutions appointed Rachel Hotham and Richard Warwick, both of Milsted Langdon at the Taunton address, as joint liquidators, with power to act together or alone. The notice names Sebastian Toon as director and chair. Companies House records the same appointment on 1 October 2026, and gives the second liquidator's full name as Richard Alan Warwick. The case is a creditors' voluntary liquidation. TLC Taxis Limited insolvency

What the statement estimates

The statement of affairs was filed on 13 October 2026. It is made up at 18 September 2026, within 14 days before the resolution. The realisable figures are estimates. They are not money in hand, and no dividend has been published.

Uncharged assets are estimated to realise £34,600.68. Cash with a third party is entered at £27,350.68, and cash at the bank at £100. Motor vehicles stand in the books at £23,507.04 and are estimated at £6,850. A cherished registration stands at £65.54 and is estimated at £200. Plant and equipment stands at £1,625.16 and is estimated at £100. An insurance claim is in the books at £1, with the amount expected to be realised marked uncertain, so it sits outside the £34,600.68.

One employee is a preferential creditor for £416.60. Deducting that claim leaves a surplus of £34,184.08 as regards preferential creditors.

HM Revenue & Customs follows, as a secondary preferential creditor, for £55,606.72 of VAT and £23,366.05 of PAYE and National Insurance. Those two claims are £78,972.77. The estimated deficiency at that point is £44,788.69. The statement records no floating charge.

Who is owed the rest

Unsecured creditors are estimated at £144,390.69. Added to the £44,788.69 already short, the deficiency as regards creditors is £189,179.38. Two ordinary shares of £1 bring the total deficiency to £189,181.38.

The unsecured £144,390.69 is five lines. Evolution ABS Limited, of Oak House, Silver Street, West Buckland, Wellington, is the trade creditor, at £4,509.96. Two employee claims come to £4,429.45. A further PAYE and National Insurance claim is £21,027.29. Directors' loan accounts are £66,268.92. An inter-company balance is £48,155.07.

The loan accounts are £39,082.87 for Sebastian Toon and £27,186.05 for Steven Toon. The inter-company creditor is TLC Garage Services Limited, at the same Compound 2 address. That company is separate. TLC Garage Services Limited remains active on the register, and this liquidation does not wind it up.

On the creditor schedule, HM Revenue & Customs is £100,000.06 in all: the VAT of £55,606.72, and PAYE and National Insurance of £44,393.34. The PAYE figure is the £23,366.05 treated as secondary preferential and the £21,027.29 left unsecured. The schedule's six named lines total £218,934.01. The employee claims are on the statement and are not part of those six lines.
