Transport for London issued 212 warning or advisory letters to private hire vehicles parked on taxi ranks in 2025, according to an FOI response published 10 September 2026 (FOI-1817-2627).
That was up from 183 in 2024. A further 52 letters were issued between 1 January and 30 June 2026. TfL said letters are only one sanction available, and that intelligence from licensees and trade groups helps deploy compliance officers.
DM News covered the same disclosure. Ranks are for licensed taxis; PHVs must not park, wait, drop off or collect on them. The FOI does not map ranks, name drivers, or show how many cases escalated beyond an advisory letter.
