A Stoke-on-Trent licensed private hire/taxi driver has been given a £500 fixed-penalty notice for littering from a vehicle.
The Sentinel and PHTM report Stoke-on-Trent City Council publicised the case with a photograph of a red plated cab. A spokesman said: “If you throw litter from a vehicle, you can receive a fixed-penalty notice. Keep it in the car. Bin it when you stop.” The council did not say what was thrown, when it happened, or whether the penalty was paid or challenged, and announced no licensing action beyond the litter fine.
