Police and council target cars blocking Morecambe taxi bays

Morecambe Area Police and Lancaster City Council spoke to illegal parkers after cabbies said ranks were being blocked.

Police and council officers have acted in Morecambe after complaints that vehicles were blocking designated taxi bays.

Reporting says Morecambe Area Police worked with Lancaster City Council in an afternoon operation. Officers spoke to people using the bays illegally, saying that blocked ranks stop taxis parking and dropping off. They also engaged with taxi drivers and advised them to report recurring problems direct to Lancaster City Council’s Taxi Licensing Department. No fine totals or number of tickets were published in the coverage.
