Hull taxi firm WER2 has installed the first emergency bleed-control kit funded by a 10p fare levy under its Knives Down campaign — and aims for many more.
Hull Daily Mail reports boss Nick Padgett unveiled the kit at the Walton Street office, with about 20 ready and a target of roughly one a week for a year at pubs, clubs, sports venues and other high-risk spots. Kits include tourniquets, gauze, dressings, chest seals, gloves and foil blankets; Eddie Beedle Ltd is fitting them. Humberside Police Inspector Lucy Kevan backed bleed kits via Safer Hull, which helped place 100 kits in 2024. Locals are asked to suggest sites via wer2taxis@outlook.com or 01482 770077.
