Hull’s WER2 funds bleed kits with 10p fare rise

After knife threat to a driver, firm fits first Bleed Control Kit and seeks sites for 20 more in the community.

Hull taxi firm WER2 has installed its first Bleed Control Kit, paid for by a dedicated 10p fare increase after a driver was threatened with a knife.

Greatest Hits Radio / Hello Rayo report boss Nick Padgett saying 20 more kits are ready and inviting residents to suggest where they should go next. The packs are meant for rapid bleeding control before paramedics arrive, aimed at driver and public safety. The firm frames the small meter uplift as community funding rather than a general tariff review.
