Evesham firm KLA Taxis is shutting after years serving the Vale of Evesham, blaming falling demand and costs it says a small independent cannot match.
In a statement carried by the Evesham Journal the company called it an “extremely difficult decision,” citing rising operating costs, the economic climate and competition from larger operators including Uber. It said undercutting made it impossible to compete while keeping service standards, and that evening bookings in particular had fallen to an unsustainable level.
KLA ran a 24-hour service by phone, app and email and was one of the town’s bigger operators. It thanked customers who booked, recommended the firm and chose a local independent. No reopening date is offered.
