A taxi driver jailed for Bounce Back Loan fraud has been ordered to repay £63,790 after investigators traced assets including a Turkish flat.
Credit Connect reports Murat Dogantekin inflated turnover by hundreds of thousands to secure two £50,000 Covid loans in 2020 despite declaring about £16,500 earnings. About £48,000 went on a two-bed flat in Turkey, plus a Peugeot and a pizza oven; no repayments followed before bankruptcy. He was jailed for two years seven months in February 2025. Exeter Crown Court’s confiscation order gives three months to pay or risk a further five years inside while still owing the sum. The Insolvency Service said Bounce Back funds were not for properties and pizza ovens.
